Who We Are
This privacy policy applies to the website onestepahead.info and the One Step Ahead application for macOS and iOS, both operated by Solid Software Lab, Berlin, Germany.

The Short Version
We collect as little data as possible. The One Step Ahead app collects no personal data at all. This website collects only what is necessary to operate the contact form. We use no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
The One Step Ahead App
The One Step Ahead app operates entirely offline. It does not establish any internet connection at any point during operation. It does not transmit data to external servers. It does not use third-party frameworks, SDKs, or analytics tools.
Sensitive data entered by the user — seed phrases, credentials, documents — is never cached, logged, or persisted by the application. All cryptographic operations are performed in memory and discarded upon completion. Fragments and reconstructed content are only written to storage when explicitly initiated by the user.
The only data stored by the app is non-sensitive user preferences: selected output type, Smart Split version, and terms of use acceptance. This data contains no information about protected content.

This website uses only essential cookies:
- osa_consent — stores your response to the cookie consent banner. Expires after 365 days. No personal data.
- Session cookie — used to generate a CSRF token for the contact form. Expires when the browser is closed. No personal data.
We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies. No cookie set by this website is shared with any third party.
Contact Form
When you submit a message via the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content. This data is sent directly to our inbox by email. It is not stored in a database, not processed by third-party services, and not shared with anyone outside Solid Software Lab. We delete messages after responding.
Server Logs
Our hosting provider may retain standard server access logs — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps — for operational and security purposes. We do not access these logs for marketing or tracking purposes. Retention periods are determined by the hosting provider.
No Analytics
This website does not use Google Analytics, Matomo, or any other analytics platform. We do not track page views, visitor behaviour, or conversion events. We do not use heat mapping, session recording, or A/B testing tools.
No Advertising
This website does not display advertising and does not use advertising networks or pixels of any kind, including Meta Pixel, Google Ads, or similar.
